There are no particular seasons for storms in Victoria. Residents should prepare their properties for flood and storm events to occur at any time of the year.
Evidence has shown that communites in fire affected areas have an increased potential in being impacted by Floods and Storms After Fires

FloodSafe

Floods can happen at anytime during the year. Many thousands of Victorian homes, properties and businesses are at risk of flooding. There are many things that you can do to minimise the impacts of floods on your home, property or workplace.
Remember NEVER to walk, ride or drive through floodwaters. This is the main cause of death and injury during flooding. As little as 20 centimetres of fast flowing water can knock you off your feet!

StormSafe

Storms can bring with them a variety of hazards from lightning, rain, strong winds and hail. You can reduce the likelihood of injury to yourself or damage to property through taking simple storm safety precautions.
