VICSES reflects on 1934 Floods
This week VICSES, in partnership with Melbourne Water, will mark the 75th anniversary of the 1934 floods which struck Melbourne causing significant damage with over 36 deaths, in excess of 10,000 residents homeless and 6 metres of water covering Kooyong Tennis courts.

VICSES partner with Melbourne Water to mark the 75th anniversary of 1934 floods

VICSES in partnership with Melbourne Water will host a week long educational exhibition at the State Library this week. With the 75th anniversary of the 1934 devastating floods it is a timely reminder that floods can happen at any time.

Free community information sessions will be held on the following dates and times at the State Library:

  • Wednesday 25 November 5pm to 8pm
  • Thursday 26 November 5pm to 8pm
  • Saturday 28 November 10am to 1pm

VICSES and Melbourne Water personnel will be available to answer questions at these information sessions.

Reliance Petroleum sponsors critical road crash rescue training for SES
This weekend, VICSES Volunteers in the Mid West Region will be the first to get a chance to hone their road rescue skills and participate in RCR training in a workshop environment.

Minister Officially Opens New Swan Hill Unit Extensions
On Wednesday 4 November, Police and Emergency Services Minister Bob Cameron officially opened the new Swan Hill Unit extensions. The State Government provided $750,000 for the upgrade of the McAllister Street site – the first extension to the headquarters since the 1980s.
