Flood Conference to examine social impacts

Published 18/09/2012

The 8th Victorian Flood Conference will be held in February under the theme “Flood, it’s not just rain!”

The event aims to examine what happens before and after a specific flood-causing event, as well as its effect on people at a social level.

Research and innovation will be showcased at the conference, as well as information on the issues surrounding floodplain management.

A visit to the Darling Street Stormwater Harvesting Project and a walking tour of Melbourne’s innovative water management technologies are already on the agenda, with more to be announced soon.

The conference is hosted by Melbourne Water and will be held at the Melbourne Convention Centre from February 13 to 15, 2013.

The event website is now online at and provides program and registration information.
