Premier's Visit

Members of the State Emergency Service’s (SES) Numurkah unit met Premier Ted Baillieu recently.

Mr Baillieu, who is also Minister for the Arts, visited Nathalia on Saturday, May 19 as part of the Regional Arts Victoria Annual General Meeting.

Nathalia was hit hard by the floods that swept across north east Victoria in March, and the Premier was keen to talk about the event with SES volunteers who had been there on the ground.

Numurkah unit member Shane Sessions was one of five volunteers who enjoyed a barbecue with Mr Baillieu in the afternoon.

The group discussed the recent floods and volunteers shared their insights on flood preparedness and mitigation.

"He asked a lot of questions and was really interested. It was good to meet him," Mr Sessions said.
