Deaf Emergency Information

Published 24/10/2015

The launch of a new Deaf Emergency Information resource provides a reliable way for deaf, deafblind and hard of hearing Victorians to access emergency information.

The new resource was launched by VicDeaf this week alongside members of Victoria's emergency services sector.

Vicdeaf developed the resource in partnership with VICSES, CFA, EMV and the Department of Health and Human Services. These agencies educate the community about different natural hazards, risks and consequences, how to leave safely and how to understand warnings and evacuation systems. The new resource brings this vital emergency information together in one place in Auslan and written english.
