Leongatha SES family fun day

Published 20/11/2012

Victoria State Emergency Service’s (SES) Leongatha Unit will hold a family fun day on Saturday 24 November.

The entire community is encouraged to come along and learn about the SES and emergency preparedness.

Local SES volunteers will be on hand to share their experience and help the community get prepared for the threat of flood and storm. A number of demonstrations will be held throughout the day to demonstrate SES equipment and techniques, and photographic displays will be on show.

While that’s all happening, SES mascot Paddy Platypus will be entertaining the little ones, who can also enjoy a jumping castle, face painting and a colouring competition.

Leongatha Unit Controller Tony Lindhard said everyone who came along was bound to have a good time.

"We’ll have giveaways all day and a free barbecue, so bring the whole family and meet your local SES volunteers – we’d love to talk to you about how you can be prepared," she said.

The Leongatha SES family fun day will be held from 9am until 3pm at 12 Watson Road, Leongatha.
