Life at the River's Edge

Published 26/06/2012

The Maryborough Unit of the State Emergency Service is proudly supporting a competition for local school students who have experienced floods first hand.

Called Life at the River's Edge, the competition is part of the FloodSafe awareness campaign and calls for students to send in creative responses to their flood experiences. Some ideas include short stories, oral histories, presentations, poems, letters, photographic displays, posters, cartoons and even movies.

Prizes are available in the following categories: Years 5/6, Years 7/8, Years 9/10 and  Years 11/12.

Entry forms can be collected from The Maryborough Advertiser, Maryborough Education Centre, Carisbrook Primary School, Highview College, St Augustine's Primary School, Information Centre and the Central Goldfields Shire offices. You can also contact the Maryborough SES by emailing or calling Sandra Beamish on 0407 642 234.

The competition closes at 4pm on Friday, 20 July 2012.
