Open day celebrating Croydon Unit's 50th birthday
Victoria State Emergency Service's (SES) Croydon Unit will hold an open day on Saturday 24 November to celebrate its 50th year supporting the community.
The event aims to raise awareness of the SES' role during flood and storm events, and a number of organisations will take part to help spread the message.
Members of the ‘Volunteering in Mainstream Organisations’ program, in which the Croydon Unit is participating, will be in attendance. The program seeks to reach out to culturally and linquistically diverse (CALD) communities through a partnership with the Migrant Resource Centre Eastern.
SES volunteers will be available throughout the day to meet the community and share their experience and insight on how to be prepared for storm and flood emergencies.
The Croydon Unit open day is on at 26 Lincoln Road, Croydon from 11am to 3pm on Saturday, so why not take the opportunity to meet your local volunteers?
