Community Safety Month

October is Community Safety Month in Victoria, and everyone is encouraged to get involved.

The occasion aims to give Victorians a chance to take part in activities and events to learn how to make our communities safer places to live and work.

Community Safety Month is held every October to raise awareness of a broad range of safety matters, including how to stay safe during an emergency. It began in 1996, co-ordinated by the Victorian Safe Communities Network and Victorian Police.

Organisations, businesses, communities and people at all levels are encouraged to build partnerships by organising safety activities with other groups

Victoria Police has more information about Community Safety Month, including how you can get involved.
