SES Sorrento Family Fun Day

Published 02/04/2013

Sorrento State Emergency Service (SES) will provide fun for the whole family on Saturday 6 April.

The unit’s Family Fun Day will have lots to do for the kids, featuring performances of the Alvin and the Chipmunks Shipwrecked live show and the chance to meet Alex the lion from Madagascar 3: Europe’s Most Wanted. SES mascot Paddy Platypus and the Easter Bunny will pay a visit to hand out some treats, accompanied by the Victoria Police Pipe Band.

Food and wine tasting is on offer for the adults, as well as live music, and SES volunteers will provide a live demonstration of a road crash rescue.

Three new carnival rides will operate throughout the day with $10 presold tickets available now from the following outlets: Palm Video Rosebud, Rosebud Newsagents, Rosebud Amcal Pharmacy, Dromana Newsagents, West Rosebud Newsagents, Palm Video Rye, YPA Real Estate Rye, Blairgowie Newsagents and Sorrento Pharmacy. Tickets will be more expensive on the day so act early.

Sorrento SES Deputy Officer Operations, David Archer, encouraged everyone to come along.

“Sorrento SES is putting together the biggest family fun day to hit the peninsula,” he said.

“The event is also a great opportunity to meet your local SES volunteers, find out what we do and how you can keep you and your family prepared for an emergency.

“We look forward to seeing everyone on the day.”

SES Sorrento is run entirely by volunteers who devote their time to protecting their community from the threat of flood, storms and earthquakes.

SES Sorrento's Family fun Day runs from 9am to 4pm on Saturday 6 April at the Village Green, Rosebud.
