Springvale SES recruitment drive

Published 04/06/2013

Victoria State Emergency Service's (SES) Springvale Unit is hoping to bolster its ranks with some new members.

The unit has recently moved to a new headquarters at Unit 10, 42 Mills Road in Dandenong and will host two information sessions - on Sunday 7 July at 2pm and Monday 8 July at 7pm - there for potential members.

A static display is also on show at Parkmore Shopping Centre in Keysborough, which will be manned by volunteers through the week.

Both the display and information night aim to promote the unit to new members and outline SES volunteers' roles and responsibilities.

SES responds to flood, storm, earthquake and tsunami emergencies iand provides education to residents about how to prepare themselves. A range of roles are available to volunteers to suit all ability and mobility levels, and accredited training is provided.

Springvale is particularly looking to recruit operational and non-operational volunteers to assist with the running and administration of the unit.
