StormSafe Awareness Week 20-26 August

Win a family ticket to Scienceworks to celebrate the launch of StormSafe Week!

Storms inflicted $1.1 billion in loss and damage on Victoria in 2011 alone. That's $3 million a day or $128,000 an hour. Much of this damage is preventable.

That's why Victoria State Emergency Service is holding StormSafe Week from August 20 to 26.

StormSafe Week encourages everyone to be better prepared for the threat of storms in the community. This year's theme is "prepare now or pay later", highlighting the simple tasks that, if undertaken before a storm hits, can save Victorians a lot of money in the long run.

Please join us at the official launch of StormSafe Week on Sunday 19 August at Scienceworks with a unique show in the Lightning room. Your ticket will also give you access to the full museum, including the Wallace & Gromit exhibition!

Bring the family, and help us create a more resilient Victoria.

To enter the draw, tell us how you're getting ready for the threat of storm, or share a photo of what storms have done to you. Leave a message on our Facebook page or email media@ses.vic.gov.au

Also, subscribe to our StormSafe newsletter and receive news about events happening during StormSafe Week, plus ways you can prepare for and stay safe during storms.
