Operation Safe Plate

Operation Safe Plate

Victoria State Emergency Service Essendon Unit will be taking part in Operation Safe Plate this Saturday at DFO Essendon from 10am until 3pm.

Operation Safe Plate replaces your standard number plate screws with one-way screws, reducing the risk of number plate theft. Traditionally, stolen number plates on motor vehicles have been used to further their criminal activities, such as robberies and burglaries.

VICSES Units across the state have been teaming up with Victoria Police provide motorists with anti-theft number plate screws. And this Saturday it will be Essendon’s turn.

For the price of a gold coin donation VICSES volunteers will be replacing number plate screws, as well as cranking up the barbeque – selling sausages to shoppers and motorists alike at the main entrance to DFO Essendon.

The hard-working volunteers will be cooking up a storm in order to raise some much needed money to replace equipment that has seen a lot of wear and tear undertaking emergency flood and storm repairs across the City of Moonee Valley.
