Sandbagging Guide

Warnings are in place for flash and riverine flooding due to heavy rainfall in several areas across the state.

To stay up to date with current warnings visit the Vic Emergency website: https://emergency.vic.gov.au/respond/

If your home is located in one of the warning areas and it is safe to stay, you may wish to use sandbags to reduce the threat of water entering your home.

Please take note of the following instructions for filling and laying sandbags:

Keep up to date with road closures at https://traffic.vicroads.vic.gov.au and stay informed of weather warnings at http://www.bom.gov.au/vic/warnings/.

If you are driving and conditions are dangerous, safely pull over away from trees, drains, low-lying areas and floodwater.

Never walk, ride or drive through flood water. It can take only 15 centimetres of water to lose control of your vehicle and float.

If you require VICSES assistance, dial 132 500. For life-threatening emergencies call 000.
