VICSES volunteers honoured for exceptional service

Volunteers from more than 30 units in Central Region had their service recognised at their annual awards dinner

CEO Stephen Griffin and Central Regional Manager Ray Jasper recently presented volunteers from the Central Region with their annual awards at the Mulgrave Country Club. 

21 volunteers from Central Region were awarded with VICSES Life Membership Awards. The VICSES Life Membership Award is awarded to eligible, active volunteers who are recognised as a leader by their peers and has provided a minimum of 20 years cumulative dedicated and significant service.

Volunteers were presented with certificates and medals acknowledging their years of service to VICSES, ranging from 5 years through to 35 years of dedicated service. Cumulatively, the long service awards for the night totalled 2,958 years.

The evening also recognised those volunteers who received the National Emergency Medal, 1st and 2nd clasps.

A special mention was also made for the Emergency Services Medal recipients Colin Matheson, Martin Forber, Karen Picone and Chris Patton for their distinguished service.
