WOW Day 2020: a chance to celebrate our volunteers

Published: 04/05/2020

It is that time of year again, with VICSES gearing up for Wear Orange Wednesday on 20th May, 2020.

WOW Day is all about recognising and celebrating the thousands of volunteers who dedicate their time to local communities 24 hours a day, seven days a week through storm, flood, road crash rescue, and much more.

Our members wear a safe and distinctive shade of bright orange, and we want YOU to do the same.

VICSES volunteers, family members, community groups, local residents, businesses, politicians and more are encouraged to post a message to social media with the hashtags #ThankYouSES and #WOWDay - while wearing a touch of orange.

However, that's the only thing you'll see in orange! Landmarks around Victoria will be lit up in a show of thanks for VICSES volunteers. On 20th May, 2020, the MCG, Bolte Bridge, Sound Tunnel, AAMI Park, Arts Centre, as well as key landmarks in Geelong, Shepparton, Ballarat, Wodonga, Swan Hill and more will be bright orange.
