Today, the Victorian Treasurer Tim Pallas handed down the 2023 Victorian Budget.

While Victoria is entering a tighter fiscal environment, there is some good news for VICSES. This includes:

·        $15.1 million towards 35 new Heavy Rescue Trucks as part of our VICSES fleet over the next four years.

·        $23 million towards rebuilding the flood affected Rochester and Heathcote Units (combining the VICSES/CFA facilities).

·        Funding to redevelop new VICSES facilities at Bannockburn and Kilmore.

·        Additional works for the new VICSES Frankston Satellite Unit at Skye.

·        Site identification works to progress planning for a new VICSES Footscray Unit facility.

In addition, the Victorian Government announced that ESTA will receive funding to support the procurement process for a new computer system to support emergency service call-taking and dispatch functions (CAD).

These funding initiatives will contribute to our operational capability now, and into the future.

The service provided by VICSES and Our People continues to play an integral role as part of our emergency services sector and our communities across the state.
