Volunteering at VICSES

Volunteer

As a volunteer based organisation, the Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) provides emergency assistance to thousands of Victorians every year. This would be simply unachievable without the support of approximately 5,000 volunteers across the state.

VICSES is the control agency for flood, storm, tsunami and earthquake in Victoria and the largest provider of road rescue in the state. We assist Victoria Police in search and rescue operations, and play an important support role during major bushfires.

Our committed and dedicated volunteers have saved the lives and property of countless Victorians, providing these services 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year.

Volunteers come from all walks of life, with diverse backgrounds, interests and skills. What unites them is their commitment to VICSES and their community.
