Become a volunteer
It takes thousands of dedicated Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) volunteers from across the state to provide emergency assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
We strive to be organisation of choice for people and partners, as described by Fundamental Goal two of our Strategic Plan 2018-22.
Register your interest in becoming a volunteer with VICSES or find out more about the units in your area.
Enquire about volunteering
To volunteer for VICSES, all applicants first go through a selection and screening process to ensure they understand the role and can meet the time commitments required for training and performing volunteer duties. For more information visit the training for new volunteers page.
There are two ways to enquire about volunteering:
- Fill out the online enquiry form below. To select your unit preferences first enter your address, which will bring up the units closest to you. Click on the red triangle (of a unit you are interested in) and click on your preference for the unit. You can select up to three units.
- Call 1300 VICSES (1300 842 737) and select option two. Calls made during business hours will be connected to your local VICSES office. Once you have registered with us, we will put you in touch with a representative from your local VICSES unit who can tell you more about becoming a volunteer.
Please note: The information you provide to VICSES will only be used to process your request for more information about becoming a SES volunteer. It will not be provided to third parties or used for any other purpose.
