Become a volunteer

It takes thousands of dedicated Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) volunteers from across the state to provide emergency assistance 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year.

By volunteering with VICSES, you will:

  • be part of a dedicated team of individuals who are passionate about helping others
  • gain valuable experience, and learn new skills
  • meet new people, and
  • make a positive impact on the community
To volunteer for VICSES, all applicants first go through a selection and screening process to ensure they understand the role and can meet the time commitments required for training and performing volunteer duties. All membership applications are subject to an interview and successful background checking.

Please note: The information you provide to VICSES will only be used to process your request for more information about becoming a volunteer. It will not be provided to third parties or used for any other purpose. You can view our privacy notice and collection notice here.
