A familiar face at VICSES’ Foster unit has taken the reins, officially named as controller.

Farmer Bernie Cashin has volunteered with the unit since 2017, and in early August took over from Rachael Nicolson, who has been in the role for the past four years.

He has the full support of his team, and says his focus is all about teamwork and community safety.

The South Gippsland Sentinel-Times published a story about Bernie, which can be read here.

The Foster unit is still seeking volunteers, with locals encouraged to put their hand up and help their community in times of need.

More information on joining VICSES can be found here.
