VICSES Community Matters, Edition #3 is out now.

This quarterly publication is designed to keep you informed of important agency activity and updates and news from each region.

In this issue we celebrate Wear Orange Wednesday (WOW Day), our national day of thanks to VICSES volunteers. This year, the Minister for Emergency Services the Hon. James Merlino launched the event with a press conference on the steps of Parliament House, while major landmarks across Victoria were lit in orange for the week. Special messages of support were shared on social media from famous athletes, TV stars and members of the community, while morning teas and lunches were held across the state. Read more about the celebrations on page 4.

Secondly, we acknowledge those VICSES members who assisted approximately 29 TOLL Driver Reviver sites across Victoria over the Easter long weekend, encouraging drivers to rest, revive and arrive alive at their destination. Learn more on page 24.

On 20 December 2017 Minister for Emergency Services James Merlino visited the Narre Warren Unit to sign a new Memorandum of Understanding between the Victorian Government, VICSES and the Municipal Association of Victoria (MAV). Find out more by reading the FAQ on page 5.

The new VICSES style guide is now being rolled out to refresh the look and feel of our corporate and promotional materials, and breathe new life into the SES brand. View page 26 for more details.

Lastly, the Operational Capability Strategy was launched in March following extensive consultation with more than 300 VICSES members and key partner agencies. See the strategy on page 18.
