Have your say on flood education

The new Flood Education & Engagement Plan for Greater Melbourne is being designed, supported by VICSES. Have your say by completing a short survey on your understanding of and attitudes towards flood risks.

In the Melbourne area floods occur with little to no warning, necessitating the community to recognise environmental signals and respond appropriately. Under such circumstances, community education is essential to ensure the community is prepared and know the appropriate responses to flooding.  There are 130,000 properties known to be subject to flooding. Beyond those directly affected, there are potentially 1,000,000 or more people affected by floods when we consider the indirect impact on transport, education, health, energy and water infrastructure networks.

This innovative, interactive and engaging Flood Education and Engagement Plan for Greater Melbourne is being designed with the support of VICSES, with the objective of improving and strengthening local community engagement. You can have your say by completing this short survey on your understanding of and attitudes towards flood risks. Thank you for your input!
