Road Rescue Workshop

Road Rescue Workshop

Published: 05/06/2015

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) North East Region recently conducted a successful Road Rescue weekend workshop together with local Country Fire Authority (CFA) volunteers.

Workshop topics included:

-  Hazardous Material awareness and procedures

-  Crime Scene awareness

-  Case Study of a unique road rescue event

-  Back to basics – a session for newly accredited Road Rescue providers

-  Heavy vehicle trailer disentanglement and unhitching procedures

A great weekend was had by all and in no short form provided some great discussion which will hopefully pave the way for a move toward a more effective and efficient road rescue delivery environment in the North East.

The event was supported by Scania Australia who attended and provided trainers as well as the awesome truck for volunteers to get their hands on.   Other supporters included Kidde Fire Safety Products who provided Holmatro’s PowerShore equipment and PT Hydraulics who provided Weber Rescue’s StabFast XL.

A big thanks to both VICSES Seymour Unit and VICSES Wodonga Unit who hosted this fantastic knowledge sharing event over the weekend.
