At VICSES safety drives our decisions. As part of October's National Safe Work Month, we are looking for our own VICSES Safety Champion.

Meet our first VICSES Safety Champion Finalist, Wendy Hayes from Swan Hill Unit!

Wendy has been with VICSES for 16 years, and has been nominated for her work as a Peer Support Team Leader for the past 11 and a half years. Her role includes looking after the psychological safety of volunteers in the Mid West and North West regions. Wendy organises pre-incident awareness training for 38 units, and even takes time off from her regular job to travel to units to ensure our volunteers have the knowledge on how to look after their own mental health and that of their team.

This October is National Safe Work Month and Health and Safety Month. Find out what events are happening in your area by checking the event program on the Work Safe Victoria website.
