VICSES web presence project

Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) is happy to announce a partnership with Permeance Technologies Pty Ltd to build our new online digital channels, both public and internal facing (intranet) on the Liferay platform.

With changes in its business needs and growing back-end systems collaboration with Country Fire Authority (CFA), VICSES decided to join them on the Liferay platform and move its digital operation across for both its public website and intranet.

Permeance is developing the new sites and services within ESPoint™ and will provide a fully managed service allowing VICSES to concentrate on its core [community resilience and emergency response] responsibilities and providing great content and the information flows between its volunteers, staff, public and partners. The benefits to VICSES are an improved capability in providing up to date information to the communities it serves and its volunteers and staff, modernising its digital service delivery and increasing compatibility with Country Fire Authority (CFA) systems that are critical to the operation of both organisations.

Victoria SES Chief Executive Officer, Stephen Griffin said the service was excited about the possibilities that ESPoint™ provides.

“We were looking for a strategic partner with credible Liferay experience who could help us on our digital journey. We found Permeance. With their experience and existing working relationship with CFA we have confidence that they will be that strong and strategic partner who can help us communicate with the public, volunteers and staff; developing new and better ways to deliver information to the right people in the easiest way at the right time.”

Shayne Tanner, Director of Permeance Technologies, said - “Emergency services organisations such as VICSES (and CFA) provide valuable contributions into the heart of many communities. With a focus on prevention, planning for, and responding to a broad range of emergency situations Permeance is very excited to be providing the digital toolset to assist in the protection of communities and their livelihoods."

"We believe in ESPoint, and we’re delighted that VICSES also does," Tanner added

VICSES is Victoria’s control agency for flood, storm, earthquake and tsunami, as well as the state’s largest provider of road crash rescue services, with 5,000 highly-trained volunteers working to create safer communities together.

Permeance specialises in the design and delivery of user and citizen-centred information systems. No one is immune from Digital Transformation, but many organisations are unclear about where to start. Digital Transformation means different things to different organisations. It’s certainly not just about marketing. In the context of government and citizen engagement, it’s about improving interactions with citizens by taking online, what makes sense, in a way that is intuitive and accessible. These solutions are often referred to as Digital Transformation Platforms (DTP) or Citizen Engagement Platforms (CEP).
