Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) volunteers have been sharpening their Road Crash Rescue (RCR) skills across the state with workshops being held in Buchan and Seymour.
Fourteen participants from Cann River, Orbost, Bairnsdale, Stratford, Sale and Warragul SES Units took part in the Buchan RCR course that was held over the first two weekends in November.
During the course attendees learnt about vehicle construction, correct tool use and application, glass management, extrication techniques, scene management and patient handling. This course was generously supported by East Gippsland Auto Recyclers and Buchan Towing.
The Seymour RCR course was attended by 25 participants from a number of different units across the North East of Victoria. The participants did a great job in soaring temperatures with many commenting that they have "gained confidence" and "learnt heaps".
A big thanks goes out to the training team made up of VICSES staff and volunteers who consistently maintain excellent standards.
