This week workers were busy installing new radios and antennas as part of the pilot for the Operational Communications Enhancement Project (OCEP) at Port Phillip Unit.

OCEP will replace the primary communication system used by VICSES to coordinate operations and provide service. More specifically it will replace the existing analogue equipment with new digital equipment operating at a different radio frequency.

This roll out will take place from unit-to-unit, beginning in the Central Region, then moving to other regions starting with South West, and finishing in the East Region. It is anticipated the roll out will be completed within five months.
