Sandbag Guide

Published 30/11/2017
With the forecast floods predicted to impact communities across the state, there are a number of things that you can do to make sure you and your property stay safe during flooding.

Sandbags will not stop the water completely but can reduce the amount of water entering your home. During low level flooding, sandbags placed in the right locations around your home can reduce the impact of flooding.

  • Learn what to do during floods
  • Click here to watch the video below to learn how to sandbag your home to help reduce the impact of floods. It explains the different types; when to use them; and how to fill them, lay them safely and dispose of them afterwards.
  • Review the VICSES sandbag quick reference guide below.

You can refer to your local VICSES flood guide for more information about your flood risk.

Bunnings has advised VICSES that all its metropolitan stores have been re-stocked with sandbags and sand, for members of the public to purchase.
