VICSES Sale Unit opens sandbag filling station

VICSES Sale Unit opens sandbag filling station

01/12/2023, 5:00 PM

This week, parts of Victoria experienced heavy rainfall with flooding impacts.

There are many things that you can do to ensure you’re flood ready, including sandbagging.

Sandbags won’t stop floodwater completely but they can reduce the amount of water entering your home or business.

Where can I collect sandbags?

The Victoria State Emergency Service (VICSES) are setting up a sandbag filling station at the VICSES Sale Unit:
Where:  35-37 Union St, Sale
When:   Saturday 02 December from 9.30am to 12:00pm.

This is a self-filling station so please bring your own shovel.

In preparedness, you can access sandbags at your local hardware store, or by enquiring with local council.

During significant events, VICSES may establish sandbag collection points within impacted communities.

Current local sandbag collection points are available from the sandbagging page.

How to sandbag:

It’s important that you know how to correctly fill, lay, and place sandbags.
